Discussion Questions:

Recall a time when someone helped you in a time of need.  How were you feeling before they arrived?  How were they able to help?  What impact did that have on you?

A person’s ability to provide help is directly connected to their ability and resources.  Why, then, is it such an encouragement to know that the Holy Spirit is interceding on behalf of the people of God?  What abilities and resources are at the Spirit’s disposal?

Prayer is not a human discipline, but a divine activity.  When we pray we are conversing with God, making our requests and desires know to Him.  How is that different than a human centered view of prayer?  (e.g. “sending positive energy and prayers”)

Why do you think it’s sometimes hard to pray?  How do these verses encourage you in your prayer life?
